I have an excess of old peanut butter jars that I washed, dried, matched lids to, and put up. I put popcorn, dried lentils, dried black beans, dried mung beans, noodles, and dried spices in them. All of these previous dried goods were in bags. It will protect them better than the bags and be prettier.
There’s a lot of talk about the Straight of Hormuz and possible food shortages. I personally do not think we will be lacking food here in the United States, but the prices might be so high that getting enough will be difficult. I am not on food stamps. I do not have a garden yet because my mower needs to be worked on. I don’t have a husband around to do husbandly things.
So for now, until that mower can be fixed, I am doing what I know. Protect what I have with what little I have to protect it. Use what I have carefully. I plan to bake some cinnamon rolls again for Ian this week and make some more deviled eggs. We used up all the cucumbers making cucumber salad.
I plan to load up a bunch of supplies for Goodwill this week, also.
